These terms cover the LineWatch website and app. By using either, you agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose.
LineWatch collects publicly published border information — wait times from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, camera images from Caltrans — and presents it, along with estimates derived from that history. It is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by CBP, the Department of Homeland Security, Caltrans, or any government agency, and nothing in it is an official statement from any of them.
Wait times come from CBP and are updated manually by staff — sometimes hours apart. LineWatch always shows how old a figure is, but it cannot make an old or inaccurate figure correct. Predictions are averages of past readings and are not promises about the future. Camera images can be delayed or unavailable. Written tips shown in the app are generated automatically from those same numbers and may be mistaken.
Do not rely on LineWatch for anything where being wrong is costly. If you have a flight, a medical appointment, a legal obligation, or any other commitment that a delay would damage, leave margin and confirm with official sources.
Do not use LineWatch while driving. Check it before you set off, or have a passenger check it. Obey all traffic laws and the instructions of border officers, which always take precedence over anything shown in the app.
LineWatch shows waits for lanes including SENTRI/NEXUS, Ready Lane and pedestrian crossings, and may point out that one is faster. It does not and cannot determine whether you are eligible to use a given lane. Entering a lane you are not entitled to use can carry real penalties. Confirm your eligibility with CBP.
LineWatch Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and it renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel it in your device Settings under your name, then Subscriptions. We never see or store your payment details. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
LineWatch is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free, or that the information in it is accurate or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LineWatch and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the service — including missed appointments, flights, work, or connections, time spent waiting, or decisions made based on information shown. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use LineWatch after that means you accept the revised terms.
